About Livd
Livd Homes is a home-care membership based in 4S Ranch, San Diego. Homeowners pay a flat monthly fee, and in return they get one dedicated handyman who knows their house, a proactive maintenance plan that's put on autopilot, and someone to call when things break. We're a licensed general contractor (CSLB #1154045) and a small, founder-led team, so you'd be joining early and have a real say in how we work.
The job
You'll be the go-to Handyman for a group of member homes in North County inland and the nearby coast: Del Sur, 4S Ranch, Carmel Valley, Rancho Peñasquitos, Rancho Bernardo, Del Mar and surrounding neighborhoods. You'll see the same homes and the same families month after month, so you get to know each house and do the job properly instead of rushing off to the next stranger. Visits are booked ahead of time through our app. You won't be chasing leads, writing quotes, or collecting payment.
Pay
- $41-$45/hr
- $1.50/mile for travel between customer homes
Schedule
- Coordinated weeks / months in advance according to your availability.
- When you're on the schedule, it's a full 8:30am-5:00pm day whether or not we have a member booking.
- We only visit customers' homes Monday to Friday. No evenings, weekends or required overtime.
- We cluster our members in a tight-knit area, with the average travel time between visits under 15 min.
What You'll Do
- Use the Livd mobile app to keep track of your schedule, assigned homes and member tasks
- Coordinate with the merchandizing team on parts and supplies needed for each visit.
- Complete routine and recurring proactive maintenance services that we keep track of for our members
- Perform small to medium-sized home fixes and upgrades:
- Plumbing: faucet repair and replacement, toilet replace, unclogging slow drains
- Electrical: lights, switches, small wiring jobs, light fixture and ceiling fan replacement
- Carpentry: trim and molding, framing, door and hardware replacement
- Painting and drywall: caulking, painting, drywall repair
- Exterior house care: power washing, stucco and deck repair
- Identify and document bigger home projects that fall outside the handyman scope. We'll handle those separately.
- Serve as a trusted advisor and a clear communicator to our members.
Job Requirements
- You’ve spent at least five years fixing up homes for a living, and very little you find behind a wall or under a sink surprises you.
- You work well on your own. On a typical visit you’re the only Livd person in the house, so you size up the job, make the call and get it done.
- You can move between trades in a single visit: patch and paint a wall, swap a faucet, re-hang a door, replace a light fixture.
- You know where your skills stop. When something needs a permit or a licensed specialist, you flag it so we can bring in the right person.
- You’re good with people. You’ll see the same families every month, and you can explain what you found in plain English without talking down to anyone.
- You keep track of your work. You log notes and photos in our app after each visit, so the next one picks up where you left off.
- You have your own tools, a reliable vehicle and a valid California driver’s license, and you’re happy spending your day driving around North County San Diego.
- You can handle the physical side: ladders, attics, crawlspaces, and carrying around 50 lbs (with or without reasonable accommodation).
- You’re comfortable with a background check and a driving record check. Members trust us with their homes.
You don't need a contractor's license. Any work that requires permits or its own specialist license will be scoped and handled by our network of specialist partners.
Livd Homes is an equal opportunity employer. We will consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records in accordance with the California Fair Chance Act.
