For years, we’ve been stuck in a place where small home maintenance tasks just pile up. You know the type: stuff that’s overkill for a general contractor but not quite right for your gardener, cleaning lady or pool guy. Then a friend recommended Livd: a new service here in San Diego that pairs you up with a consistent handyman that you have on retainer. They have an app to keep track of all your maintenance and honey-do’s, and now anytime we need something done we just plug it in. This really beats prowling Nextdoor for a handyman every time, and then hoping the person shows up and does decent work.
I got Livd after trying to get someone to clean my dryer vent. One guy didn’t show, and another came 2 hours late, took my vent apart and quoted four times the amount they did on the phone. Enough.

Cool new service in the Del Sur area. We’ve only had a few visits so far, but our handyman got a lot done: fixed a crooked entry door, flushed our water heater, cleaned and lubricated sliding doors all around the house, cleaned our fridge compressor coils and even reattached a range hood switch that lost its footing. Before Livd, this would’ve been several different people who we’d have to find somehow. Here we have access to a consistent handyman that knows how to do it all. I also like that they point out small fixes and improvements as they work on your tasks, and you can schedule what you want done for the next visit.
I love not having to bring a thousand people in for every small job. For me, the time I spend coordinating and waiting is more expensive than the work itself.
We used to get this email from the HOA for what proactive maintenance we should do. But it was all the same stuff, and it didn’t apply to our house. I love that Livd pre-scheduled our must-do’s for us and keeps track of it it all.

Omg, what a life saver! As a busy family, we just couldn’t keep up with all the little home maintenance and repair things that pile up, even in a newer home. With Livd, we have a consistent handyman who comes in a few times a month and works down the list we create in their mobile app. Personally, I love knowing that our person is licensed, insured and background checked by Livd. A few months in, I trust them enough to not even be home when they do the work. Strong recommend!

We have been using Livd for a few months and are beyond happy to be tackling maintenance tasks on our home — things we keep hoping to get done on the weekends but never quite get to. The app is easy to use and I can simply add tasks and prioritize what we want done at each visit. We started with smaller items like hanging prints that have been sitting on the floor for months but also had Eric flush our water heater (FYI it supposed to be done annually), baseboard replacement that my husband hadn’t gotten to in over a year, and replacing a broken door handle that was the bane of my existence. I am particular about how I like things done and Eric has been great to work with!

Things have been crazy at work, and we got Livd last month to buy some time back. On our plan, we get two visits of around two hours per month (you can even schedule them back to back). The handyman then comes in and works through tasks you created on the app. Last visit, he cleaned the dryer vent and touched up a bunch of walls while I was in and out of meetings. Let me tell you, not planning my weekends around these chores feels great.

I think these folks are new, but I really like the model. Like any household, we’d have a list of things to do, but almost never enough at once to hire a handyman for a full day. With Livd, you can have the same person come out a few times a month and take care of small fixes before they pile up. They only serve a smaller area for now (so it’s worth checking whether they’re in your neighborhood yet) - but if they are, it’s much more affordable than a handyman who has to travel to you specifically. Right before the last appointment, my dryer reported 90% blockage and the technician was able to take care of it immediately as part of the scheduled visit. They were also able to take care of some non-regular tasks, like reinforcing a kitchen cabinet to support a new microwave and provided referrals for larger projects.
I just found that nobody wants to come out to do the small jobs anymore. It’s easy to get a quote for a bathroom remodel, but impossible to have someone fix the grout. With Livd, I don’t have to save up a day’s worth of small tasks to get some help.
