1. Introduction

Livd Homes, Inc. ("Livd," "we," "us," or "our") provides a subscription handyman service for homeowners in San Diego, California. We deliver our service through our website at www.livdhomes.com (the "Site"), our progressive web application accessible from the Site (the "App"), and related communications (collectively, the "Service").

This Privacy Policy describes the categories of personal information we collect about California residents, how we use and share that information, how long we keep it, and the rights and choices you have under California law, including the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (collectively, the "CCPA").

Service area. Livd currently offers its Service only to homeowners located in California. If you are not a California resident or are accessing the Service from outside California, please do not use the Service or submit personal information to us.

By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with how we handle personal information as described here, please do not use the Service.

2. Personal Information We Collect

Throughout this Policy, "personal information" has the meaning given to it under the CCPA: information that identifies, relates to, describes, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular California resident or household. Personal information does not include publicly available information or information that has been deidentified or aggregated.

2.1 Categories of personal information we collect

In the past 12 months, and on an ongoing basis, we collect the following categories of personal information defined under California Civil Code § 1798.140:

  • A. Identifiers — Real name, postal/service address, email address, phone number, account ID, IP address, device identifiers, online identifiers. Sources: directly from you (signup, intake forms); automatically when you use the Site/App.
  • B. Customer Records (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.80(e)) — Name, address, phone, email, and similar contact and account information you provide to set up service or pay for your subscription. Sources: directly from you.
  • C. Commercial Information — Subscription plan, services requested or performed at your home, service history, billing records, and records of customer support interactions. Sources: directly from you; from our handymen documenting completed work; from our payment processor.
  • D. Internet or Other Electronic Network Activity — Browsing and interaction history with the Site/App, referring/exit pages, time and duration of visits, click and tap data, email open and click data, and crash/diagnostic logs. Sources: automatically via cookies, SDKs, server logs, and email pixels.
  • E. Geolocation Data — Approximate location derived from IP address. Precise location only if you grant location permission to the App (for example, to verify your service address); we do not track precise location in the background. Sources: automatically from your device or browser, with permission.
  • F. Audio, Visual, or Similar Information — Photos of your home or work areas that you (or our handyman, with your consent) upload to document service requests or completed work. Sources: directly from you or our handyman during a service visit.
  • G. Inferences — Inferences drawn from the above to characterize service preferences, likelihood to renew, or recommended maintenance tasks. Sources: created by us based on the categories above.
  • H. Sensitive Personal Information (limited) — Account log-in credentials (username and password) and, where you grant permission, precise geolocation. Payment card information is collected and stored by our payment processor (Stripe), not by Livd; we receive only a tokenized reference and the last four digits. Sources: directly from you; from Stripe.

We do not knowingly collect: biometric information; genetic data; racial or ethnic origin; religious or philosophical beliefs; union membership; the contents of your mail, email, or text messages other than messages directed to us; or health, sex life, or sexual orientation information.

2.2 Information collected automatically (cookies and similar technologies)

When you visit the Site or use the App, we and our service providers use cookies, software development kits (SDKs), pixels, web beacons, and similar technologies to operate the Service, remember your preferences, measure performance, and support marketing. The categories of cookies and tags we currently use include:

  • Strictly necessary — required to load the Service, authenticate sessions, and prevent fraud. These cannot be turned off.
  • Analytics — such as Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager, which help us understand how visitors use the Service.
  • Advertising and remarketing — such as the Meta (Facebook) Pixel and Google Ads conversion/remarketing tags, which let us show ads to people who have visited the Service. As described in Section 5, this activity is treated as "sharing" under the CCPA.

You can manage cookies through your browser settings. You can also opt out of cross-context behavioral advertising as described in Section 5. Our Service is configured to recognize the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for the browser on which it is enabled.

3. Sources of Personal Information

We collect the personal information described above from the following categories of sources:

  • Directly from you — when you sign up, request a quote or walk-through, schedule service, communicate with us by email, SMS, phone, or in-app chat, upload photos, or update your account.
  • Automatically from your device or browser — through cookies, SDKs, server logs, and similar technologies when you interact with the Site or App or open our emails.
  • From service providers acting on our behalf — such as our payment processor (Stripe), hosting provider, email/SMS delivery providers, customer support and CRM tools, and analytics providers.
  • From advertising partners — such as Meta and Google, which may share aggregate or pseudonymous information about ad performance and audiences.
  • From our handymen and field staff — who document service visits, materials used, and completed work.
4. How We Use Personal Information

We use the personal information described above for the following business and commercial purposes:

  • Provide the Service. Create and manage your account, schedule and dispatch handymen, complete service requests, send appointment reminders and ETA notifications, and operate the Site and App.
  • Billing and payments. Process subscription charges and one-off fees, prevent payment fraud, issue refunds, and maintain transaction records.
  • Customer support. Respond to inquiries, troubleshoot issues, investigate complaints, and improve quality of service.
  • Communications. Send transactional messages (account, billing, scheduling) by email, SMS, push notification, or phone, and — with your consent where required — marketing or promotional messages about the Service.
  • Analytics and improvement. Measure usage and engagement, debug, develop new features, and improve the Service.
  • Marketing and advertising. Run, measure, and optimize advertising on third-party platforms (including remarketing) and email and SMS marketing campaigns.
  • Security and fraud prevention. Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, and illegal activity, and protect the rights, property, and safety of Livd, our customers, and others.
  • Legal and compliance. Comply with applicable laws, regulations, court orders, and lawful government requests, and enforce our Terms of Service and other agreements.
  • Corporate transactions. Evaluate and complete a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar transaction, in which case personal information may be transferred as part of the transaction.

We will not collect additional categories of personal information or use the personal information we already collected for materially different, unrelated, or incompatible purposes without first providing notice to you.

5. Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

We do not sell your personal information for money. However, when we use third-party advertising tools such as the Meta (Facebook) Pixel and Google Ads remarketing tags on the Site or App, certain identifiers and online activity information (including IP address, device identifiers, cookies, and pages or actions taken) may be transferred to the advertising platforms to deliver tailored ads to you on other sites and services. Under the CCPA, this activity is considered "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. California residents have the right to opt out of this sharing at any time.

Categories of personal information we share

In the past 12 months we have shared the following categories of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising:

  • Category A (Identifiers) — online identifiers, IP address, cookie/device identifiers.
  • Category D (Internet or Other Electronic Network Activity) — browsing and interaction information.
  • Category E (Geolocation) — approximate location derived from IP.
  • Category G (Inferences) — audience segments derived from the above.
Recipients

Categories of third parties to whom we share this information for cross-context behavioral advertising: online advertising platforms (Meta and Google) and their service providers.

How to opt out

You can submit a Do Not Sell or Share request in any of these ways:

  • Click the "Your Privacy Choices" link in the footer of every page on our Site.
  • Email us at hello@livdhomes.com with the subject line "Do Not Sell or Share."
  • Enable Global Privacy Control (GPC) in a supporting browser or extension. We treat a GPC signal as a valid opt-out for the browser on which it is enabled, with respect to that browser's identifiers — no further action is required from you.

Minors. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of California residents under 16 years of age.

6. Sensitive Personal Information and the Right to Limit

California residents have the right to limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information to specified purposes (such as performing the services you requested, security, and certain other narrow business purposes).

Livd uses the categories of sensitive personal information identified in Section 2.1 (account log-in credentials and, where you have granted permission, precise geolocation) only to provide the Service you requested and for the purposes permitted by Cal. Code Regs. tit. 11, § 7027(m), such as ensuring security and integrity, performing the services you requested, and short-term, transient use. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you or for other purposes that would trigger the right to limit.

Because of this limited use, you do not need to take any action to limit our use of your sensitive personal information. If you believe we are using sensitive personal information in a way that requires us to offer a Right to Limit link, please contact us at hello@livdhomes.com.

7. How Long We Keep Personal Information

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Specific retention periods depend on the category of information and the purpose for which we collected it. Our general retention practice is:

  • Account information (Categories A, B) — duration of your account, plus up to 7 years thereafter (tax, accounting, dispute resolution, and legal hold obligations).
  • Service and billing records (Category C) — up to 7 years after the relevant transaction (accounting and tax recordkeeping).
  • Communications and support records — up to 3 years after the last interaction (quality, training, and dispute resolution).
  • Site/App usage and analytics (Category D) — up to 26 months in identifiable form (Google Analytics default).
  • Advertising and remarketing data (shared) — periods set by the advertising platform, typically up to 13 months.
  • Photos uploaded for a service request (Category F) — duration of your account, plus 2 years (documentation of completed work and warranty claims).
  • Marketing email and SMS lists — until you unsubscribe or revoke consent, plus a short suppression period to honor your opt-out and avoid re-contact.

After the applicable retention period, we will delete or deidentify the personal information, unless a longer period is required by law or to handle an active legal claim.

8. Your California Privacy Rights

California residents have the following rights with respect to their personal information, subject to certain exceptions:

  • Right to Know. Request that we disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources, the business or commercial purposes for collecting or sharing it, and the categories of third parties to whom we disclosed it.
  • Right to Delete. Request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to legal exceptions.
  • Right to Correct. Request that we correct inaccurate personal information that we maintain about you.
  • Right to Opt Out of Sale or Sharing. Direct us not to sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. See Section 5.
  • Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information. As described in Section 6, our current use of sensitive personal information does not trigger this right, but you may contact us if you believe otherwise.
  • Right to Data Portability. Receive a copy of your personal information in a portable and, to the extent technically feasible, readily usable format.
  • Right to Non-Discrimination. You will not be denied service, charged different prices, or provided a different level or quality of service because you exercised any of these rights.
8.1 How to exercise your rights

You may submit a verifiable consumer request by:

  • Emailing hello@livdhomes.com with a subject line that describes your request (e.g., "CCPA Request to Know"); or
  • Using the privacy request form linked in the footer of the Site, when available.

To verify your request, we will ask you to provide information that matches what we already have on file (such as your name, email, service address, and account ID). We may also ask you to confirm specific facts about your account. We will not use the information you provide for verification for any purpose other than verification.

Authorized agents. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. We will require the agent to provide signed written permission from you, and we may also ask you to verify your identity directly with us and confirm that you have given the agent permission to act for you.

We will respond to verifiable consumer requests within the timeframes required by the CCPA (generally 45 days from receipt, with one 45-day extension where reasonably necessary). If we deny your request in whole or in part, we will explain why.

9. Marketing Email, SMS, and Phone Communications
9.1 Email

We may send you transactional emails (about your account, subscription, scheduling, and similar matters) and, where you have consented or where otherwise permitted by law, marketing emails. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time by clicking the "unsubscribe" link in any marketing email or by emailing us. Opting out of marketing will not affect transactional emails.

9.2 SMS / text messages

If you provide your phone number and consent to receive text messages, we may send you (a) transactional SMS such as appointment reminders, handyman ETA updates, and account or billing alerts; and (b) marketing SMS such as promotions or service announcements. We obtain SMS consent at the point of collection (for example, on our signup form). Consent to marketing SMS is not a condition of purchase. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies.

Opt-out: Reply STOP to any text message to unsubscribe. Reply HELP for help, or contact us at hello@livdhomes.com.

9.3 Phone calls

We may call you for service-related reasons (scheduling, follow-ups, dispatch). If you have consented to marketing calls, you may revoke consent at any time by telling the caller or by emailing us.

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for adult homeowners. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 years of age, and we do not sell or share the personal information of California residents under 16. If you believe a child under 16 has provided personal information to us, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

11. Geographic Scope

Livd offers its Service only in California. The Service is hosted in the United States. We are not directing the Service to, and do not knowingly collect personal information from, residents of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or other jurisdictions whose data protection laws (such as the EU/UK GDPR) would apply on the basis of the user's location. If you are located outside California, please do not use the Service.

12. Data Security

We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure. Payments are encrypted in transit using TLS and processed by our PCI-compliant payment processor. No method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is, however, completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

13. Third-Party Links and Services

The Service may link to third-party sites, services, or applications that we do not operate. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third parties, and we are not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third party before providing them with personal information.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If we make material changes, we will provide additional notice (such as by email or a prominent notice on the Site) before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of the updated Privacy Policy constitutes your acknowledgment of the updates, to the extent permitted by law.
